Tequilas Down South

Amidst all the doom and gloom of venue closures during Lockdown, Manchester's most prolific bar operator "Captain" Lyndon Higginson - the man behind The Liar's Club, Crazy Pedro's, Cane & Grain, Junkyard Golf, The Bay Horse Tavern, Bunny Jackson's, Wolf at The Door and Wilderness Record Store - has teamed up with Rupert Cade and Rick McClean to convert their Solomon's Cafe Bar on Wilmslow Road into a new late night venue.

Southside, which opens 8th July, will offer one of the biggest tequila selections in the UK and, like Wolf at The Door, will specialise in tacos, with a 2am closing time, meaning Withington locals don't have to travel into town for a big night out.

An open-air backyard terrace and additional seating, has been added with Lyndon - who lives locally - adding his trademark artistic touches to the walls.

Fittingly, in its former guise, Solomon's acted as the late night after-show party for the launch of Wilderness Record Store, which Lyndon opened in April 2019, just around the corner. Its own backyard garden terrace adjacant to that of Southside.
