Zizzi in the Rosso

Despite a 7% increase in sales, the owners of Italian restaurant chains Zizzi and Ask Italian have announced another year in the red, posting pre-tax losses of £16.3 million for the year upto June 2019.

Whilst the figures are an improvement on the £23.9 million loss in 2018, it highlights the issues facing the group's 311 branches, with 2020 expected to be just as challenging for the restaurant industry.

Despite closing their Spinningfields branch in 2018, there are now five Zizzi's in Manchester; The Corn Exchange, Piccadilly Gardens, King Street, Trafford Centre and Stockport).
