Vertigoes to First Street

Vertigo Plant Based Eatery, the tiny restaurant and coffee bar in the Royal Exchange building on Cross Street, have announced a second venue, despite only opening in December 2018.

Taking the 45 cover unit opposite HOME, which was vacated in January following the liquidation of Ancoats fitness food restaurant, Kettlebell Kitchen, who collapsed after growing too fast; partly blaming the higher rents and lower-than-expected footfall at the First Street branch in particular.

Owner Michael Jebelli admitted they probably should have opened a bigger branch in the first place, explaining that "it's gone really well - better than we ever thought it would. It's got to the point where we're having to turn people away all day on Saturdays and First Street's a great fit for us.”

The new site is expected to open in August.
