The Kush Closes23rd Apr 2019One of the region's longest standing restaurants has closed after 48 years, following the tragic death of the owner's son.
The Kushoom Koly in Heaton Moor has been serving diners since 1971, however the family-run curry house, which is lovingly known as "The Kush" has shut its doors permanently after owner Faruk Uddin decided to take time out to mourn his son, Jordan, who was killed after being hit by a car in Levenshulme on Valentine's Day.
The 26 year old was an organ donor and his family honoured his decision to give the gift of life to others, whilst asking people donate to the mental health charity MIND in his memory here.
Faruk has hinted that he may return in the future with a smaller "Kush II" in Heaton Moor.
