Despite only just relaunching in February 2019, popular burger restaurant Solita has unexpectedly announced the closure of its Prestwich branch on Twitter.

At 13:28 on Tuesday June 11th 2019, they wrote: "Solita Prestwich will close today and re-launch in the next 2 months with a fantastic new concept. We'd like to thank all our loyal customers that have dined with us over the last 4 years and look forward to seeing them at our 2 other sites and when Pretwich [sic] re-opens soon."

The sudden move left some diners angry that their bookings, including those for Father's Day this Sunday, had been cancelled with deposits yet to be returned. 

Working with a new partner, there are plans to reopen the unit in September as a bar, taking in the empty next door Prestwich Hardware store ("all your tools and so much more").

Solita's flagship Northern Quarter restaurant and adjacent El Taquero Mexican restaurant, together with Solita Didbury, remain open for business.
