Simon Wood Too Fine for Chester2nd Jul 2020Manchester celebrity chef Simon Wood, has announced the closure of his Chester restaurant, just 12 months after it opened.
Interestingly, the former Masterchef winner cited the reason for closure was due to a change in format of his new "unfussy fine dining" tasting menus, which can not suitably be adapted to the more casual a la carte dining approach, now required by Hotel Indigo Chester - presumably in anticipation of their guest's reduced spending power.

New restrictions caused by the pandemic have seen the Chadderton-born chef, who still operates Wood Manchester on First Street - which reopens on the 10th July - move focus for the brand towards a more fine dining approach, ditiching his a la carte menus in favour of five, seven, and ten course set menus.
Those people whose income has been heavily affected by the coronavirus outbreak can still be accommodated, however, as Wood Manchester will be offering a three course "accessible entry level" introductory menu.
