Rest In Peace Hiran xxx17th Jul 2019We are saddened to learn that the body of much-loved missing El Capo chef Hiran Chauhan has been found, not far from his home in Salford.
Hiran, an incredibly well loved employee of the Mexican restaurant, finished work at around 22:30 on Tuesday July 2nd and made his way home from the Northern Quarter with a friend, calling at McDonald's in Piccadilly Gardens.
Catching a tram from Market Street and changing at St.Peter's Square, further CCTV footage showed the 24-year-old changing trams at Cornbrook at 23:08 and then getting off at Langworthy at 23:31.
It is believed he possibly made plans to meet somebody on a dating app, and never returned home to the room he rents in a house share.
He was reported missing two days later, after missing his best friend's birthday, Thursday 4 July 2019.
His colleagues at El Capo were distraught at his disappearance and their worst fears tragically came true, five days later, when school children made a gruesome discovery in undergrowth, with Greater Manchester Police delivering the news nobody wanted to hear.
"Shortly before 08:10 on Tuesday 9 July 2019, police were called to a wooded area close to Eccles Old Road, where it meets the junction of Brentwood, to reports that a body had been found.
"A man aged 32 from the Salford area has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody for questioning." He has since been bailed pending further enquires.
His work colleagues put out a statement reading: "We are absolutely devastated by the news regarding our chef and friend Hiran. There are no words for the emotions that the team here at El Capo are feeling right now. We would like to thank all of our friends around the Northern Quarter that have shown their support and we appreciate that massively. Our hearts and thoughts are with his family at this unimaginably difficult time."
Police are appealing for any video footage recorded in the area between 00:30 and 09:00 on Tuesday 9 July 2019 on Eccles Old Road, between Weaste Lane and Castleway including Rivington Road. They are particularly interested in any sightings of a silver 2003 Suzuki Swift, registration number DG03 XKE, during that period.
An incredibly well loved character, he will be sorely missed.
R.I.P Hiran x
