Reds Out of The Red27th Jun 2019Manchester's Albert Square favourite, the American diner chain Red’s True Barbecue and their Leeds microbrewery Legitimate Industries, have been saved from closure after being bought out of administration.
With eight restaurants in the Yorkshire based chain, seven have survived with only the Liverpool branch pulling up the shutters, after 3 years of trading.

Citing challenging trading conditions, the company went into administration on Thursday but has already been snapped up by Tokyo Industries, the massive nightclub, bar and restaurant owner, which started in Manchester and now boasts over 39 sites across the UK.
Founded by Aaron Mellor in 1997, with the Tokyo Project nightclub in Oldham, Tokyo Industries also own Manchester's Factory 251 and South nightclubs, as well as Impossible and the soon to open Whiskey Down gentleman's club, amongst many other venues in Newcastle and Yorkshire.
Red’s True Barbecue founders, James Douglas and Scott Munro - who started the popular chain in Leeds, 2012 - will join the Tokyo Industries group.
Tokyo Industries founder Aaron Mellor added: “Red’s is an incredible brand with strong growth potential. James and Scott’s passion, creative yet rebellious attitude, and near cult status restaurants are a perfect synergy for both parties and we’re looking forward to working as a team to take the brand forward.”
