Manchester Chefs Up for National Chef Awards

Mana Chef Patron Simon Martin has been nominated in the "Chef To Watch" category at Restaurant magazine's prestigious 12th annual Estrella Damm National Restaurant Awards, to be awarded on the 10th June 2019.

Simon Shaw, Chef Patron of King Street tapas restaurant El Gato Negro and new Ancoats diner Canto, is also up for "Restaurateur of the Year", the only nominee from outside of London.

On the night of the awards, they also reveal the list of the 100 best restaurants in the UK, as voted for by their academy of chefs, restaurateurs and food writers.

London Thai restaurant, Kiln topped last year's list with Didsbury's Hispi named the 46th best restaurant in the country, and Stockport's Where The Light Comes In at 80th. Surprisingly there was no place for Adam Reid at The French (currently no.1 on our Best Restaurants in Manchester, and The Good Food Guide's 13th best restaurant in the UK).
