Manchester Al Fresco~ The Bay Horse Tavern ~ 30th Jun 2020Whilst Britain may be leaving the EU, Manchester is getting a Continental makeover, with bars and restaurants being aided in their reopening by the council, who have made it easier for operators to introduce outside seating areas, with whole streets temporarily becoming pedestrianised.
Thomas Street (home to The Bay Horse Tavern and Cane & Grain), Edge Street (63 Degrees and Common) and Dorsey Street (opposite Tib Street Tavern), will all be closed to traffic in the Northern Quarter so that bars can offer outdoor seating.

In Ancoats, Blossom Street, around Cutting Room Square (home to Elnecot) has also become pedestrianised, as has Bloom Street and Richmond Street in the Gay Village.
Elsewhere in the city centre, Bridge Street (home to Randall & Aubin and Mojo), Wakefield Street (The Thirsty Scholar) and the adjacant James Leigh Street (The Salisbury) will join the likes of The Corn Exchange, King Street (home to Tast) and the Great Northern as outdoor drinking areas.
