From The F Word to The C Word

As reported back in February, Channel 4 had commissioned a documentary following Gary Usher, the controversial chef and crowdfunding restaurateur behind local bistros Kala and Hispi.

They have now revealed it is set to air this Autumn.

The hour-long programme follows him over the space of a year, in 2018, as he crowdfunded £50,000 to open his fifth bistro, Pinion, in premises vacated by an old BetFred shop in Prescot - the first new restaurant in the neglected Merseyside town in over 30 years.

With his controversial opinions and potty mouth language, he tries to "convince a town of sceptical locals to fall in love with deep fried pig head croquettes and steak tartar."

No doubt littered with even more profanities than Gordon Ramsay's "The F Word" - including his penchant for the "C" word (and we don't mean "crowdfunding") - Channel 4 describe the show as "sticking two fingers up at the banks, the restaurant chains and big businesses that ignore Britain’s small towns."

It should make for interesting viewing.
