Frankie & Benny's Quito10th Jun 2020Another anticipated bad news story has come to fruition, after one of the biggest hospitality employers in the region, The Restaurant Group, confirmed the permanent closure of 125 branches from their portfolio - included local branches of Frankie & Benny's New York Italian, Tex Mex chain Chiquito, and Coast To Coast American diner - at the expense of 3,000 jobs.
In April, the group had already ditched their Frankie & Benny's branch on St Ann’s Street (now Vincenzo Trattoria), together with those in Altrincham and Leigh, whilst Chiquito Altrincham was closed when the Tex Mex chain went into administration in March.

Whilst the company is in negotiations with landlords, we are still awaiting a list of those branches affected, however Frankie & Benny's can currently be found in The Printworks, Salford, The Trafford Centre, Didsbury, Ashton-under-Lyne, Bolton, Bury, Denton, Leigh, Oldham, Warrington and Wigan.
Chiquito has branches at The Printworks, Ashton Moss, and Bolton, whilst Coast To Coast can be found at The Trafford Centre.
The closures do not affect The Restaurant Group's other chains; Wagamama, Brunning & Price (who own The Wharf), Est Est Est at The Trafford Centre, and their concession units, which include Giraffe, Joe's Kitchen, Bar MCR, and Café Balzar - all at Manchester Airport - as well as The Hourglass at Piccadilly Station.
