Carluccigoes

There have been many high profile closures either because of, or at least sped up by, the Coronavirus Lockdown.

Doomed Italian chain Carluccio's is just one of a few national brands to go into administration, with a takeover by Boparan Restaurants - which owns Giraffe and Ed's Easy Diner - saving the company and 30 of their 70 branches, keeping 900 of the 2,000 staff.

Whilst Carluccio's at Piccadilly Station and the ill-fated Trafford Centre have been retained, the Spinningfields outlet is set to close.

The Italian restaurant and deli chain was founded in London, in 1991, by TV chef Antonio Carluccio, who passed away in 2010.
