Bygone Burgers?

Another big name to call in administrators is the stuggling burger chain, Byron Burgers, who have been quietly closing branches over the past two years - including one on Deansgate - following a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) in 2018. 

The chain is believed to be in talks with three potential buyers, who could save the firm or at least parts of it, in a so-called "pre-pack" administration deal.

Accountancy firm KPMG, who have been trying to sell the restaurant chain since early May, are said to have been asked to deal with the administration in the coming days.

It is not yet known the fate of their Piccadilly Gardens restaurant, however the company employs over 1,200 staff in its remaining 51 restaurants and a sale is likely to see some, if not most, of those closed.
