Bye Bye Roc & Rye

Following the sad news earlier this week, that Northern Quarter newcomer Fika has already closed, another of our favourite independent venues has followed suit. 

Beautiful cocktail bar Roc & Rye, hidden away in Spring Gardens, joins the growing list of failed ventures, barely two years since opening. 

Originally opened as day time cafe and night time cocktail bar, by partners Maritza Haydon and Matt Bonner, with the help of Manchester bar consultant Sean Finnegan, the venue was redecorated recently with a pink Miami inspired vibe. 

Whilst uncertain economic times in the hospitality trade can be blamed on Brexit and the weak pound, we suspect the bar's location didn't help matters either.
