Bollocks to Brexit~ Click here for Elnecot ~ 10th Aug 2020If there is one thing to unite those working in Manchester's bars, restaurants and hotels, it is their common hatred of Brexit; the idea that half the people of Great Britain (or England and Wales, to be precise), could actually vote for something that effectively threatened the very presence of a large proportion of their work colleagues - an essential cog in Manchester's hospitality scene, let alone many people's friendships and personal relationships.
And that's without even mentioning the related cost of running an establishment reliant on food, drink and ingredient imports from the EU, with prices rising accordingly as the pound got weaker.
Now, Michael Clay's Ancoats favourite, Elnecot, have launched a "Bollocks to Brexit" dish, which is incredibly more appetising than the poltical changes which influenced it.
Consisting of Lamb Testicle Croquettes and served in a Magic Money Tree Sauce with trout roe, foie royale and edible 24ct gold, it is available on the Lockdown influenced new menu, for just £10 (that's €11 at today's rate).
You can now also order Lockdown wings in STAY ALERT sauce (£7), alongside their must-try speciality Disco Cabbage (£7), Manchester Egg with fermented gooseberry mayo (£6) and Beef & Bone Marrow Burger (£10).
Whatsmore, you can also enjoy the dishes for half price Monday - Wednesday in August as part of the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, with the outdoor terrace offering a Continental feel in the current European-style heatwave.
Now that's an Ode to Joy.
