Back in the Neighbourhood

Tokyo Industries - the massive Newcastle-based leisure company which grew from Aaron Mellor's Tokyo Project nightclub in Oldham to now include Manchester's Factory 251, South, Impossible, Red’s True BBQ and Whiskey Down - has bought the former Neighbourhood restaurant and bar, submitting a licensing application to reopen the Spinningfields unit.

The popular celeb haunt was closed down by authorities in April 2019, following numerous violent incidents, a drugs-related death and an alleged gang stabbing.

If successful with their application, the venue will become home to a similar Manhattan-style restaurant and cocktail bar, with 'immersive' entertainment including plays, films and live music until 03:30 at weekends.
