Ancoats Street Urchins12th May 2019The Northern Quarter / Ancoats is to get another neighbourhood restaurant, as Street Urchin, is finally set to open on Great Ancoats Street.
Husband and wife team Rachel and Kevin Choudhary, who hail from the fishing port of Grimsby, originally planned to open the seafood restaurant in 2017, next door to Seven Bro7hers Beerhouse on Cutting Room Square, after leaving the Victoria pub in Altrincham.
Street Urchin will now open in a new location, just around the corner and on The Northern Quarter side of Great Ancoats Street; taking a ground floor unit of the Astley Building apartment block; which was named after The Astley Arms, which stood here from 1821-1926, remaining dormant until its demolition in 2016.
No opening date has yet been announced.
