Due to local lockdown restrictions, the best restaurant in Manchester according to the secret reviews carried out for Restaurants of Manchester Top 10 list, Adam Reid at The French, have postponed their reopening.

Originally due to reopen in September, they are now not expected to return until October, although a specific date will be announced in the next few days.

The highest rated restaurant in the UK not to hold a Michelin Star - with 4 AA rosettes and 8/10 in the Good Food Guide (ranking it the 13th best in the country), The French serves modern British cooking with a north west accent from Mancunian chef Adam Reid, a two time winner of BBC’s Great British Menu.

Located inside the historic Midland Hotel, the building is currently undergoing a £14m transformation, with a new bar and lobby area part of their ground floor refurbishment, which will also see casual dining restaurant Mr Cooper's replaced with Mount Street Dining Room & Bar, which is due to open on 1st September.
