Adios to More Northern Quarter Restaurants

There have been some more closures in the Northern Quarter recently.

Despite a post on Social Media on the 12th November 2019, saying "‪La Boca is now closed for one week and due to open again on Wednesday 20th. We hope to see you soon," the small family run Spanish cafe bar & charcuteria, has failed to reopen.

Specialising in hand carved jamon Iberico de Bellota, Spanish cured fish and cheese, like so many back street venues in town, the fantastic Turner Street venue suffered with a lack of footfall and very little marketing.

Just around the corner, on the even more hidden Back Turner Street, Solita's Mexican sister, El Taquero, has also closed down, finally shutting its doors on the 12th January 2020.

Described as "Manchester's first and only authentic Mexican Taqueria, serving the best tacos & traditional Mexican dishes in town" it is another hidden unit that was quiet in terms of much needed marketing.

Solita itself, also on Turner Street, has been saved by celebrated Hull gastropub streetfood operator Shoot The Bull, who bought the burger chain on 13th February 2020 [news of that here].
