San Carlo Cicchetti - Breakfast Preview

The news it out; Breakfast is back at San Carlo Cicchetti, and it's bigger than ever. 

The iconic San Carlo Cicchetti have launched their new brand-new breakfast menu, and the team were invited down on Thursday morning to take a first-hand look at what to expect.

We were treated to the Cicchetti Full English (£12.95) which is San Carlo's take on our national institution was a triumph.  Great quality goods across the whole plate and, those house-made baked beans more than give Heinz a run for their money!

Eggs, Crab & Caviar the poached eggs were perfectly done, topped with bags of fresh crab, a generous helping of luxurious caviar, along with a silky and clearly butter heavy hollandaise.  The plate was as decadent as it sounds and is also a true bargain at just £14!  I'd happily wake up to this every single day.

We also decided on Fruit Granola (£10.95) to add some virtuosity to our hugely indulgent brekky!  A generous portion of Greek yoghurt topped with fruit granola along with a huge selection of fresh fruit.   Raspberries, pomegranate, goji berries a ton of of fresh strawberries, and decadent Amarena cherries.  Absolutely delicious.

But the jewel in the breakfast crown is San Carlo's Giant Croissants (£25), packed with either pistachio cream or Parma ham, mozzarella and rocket. The photos perhaps don’t depict their true scale, but they are enormous and are freshly baked over the road in the flagship San Carlo's own basement bakery, which even after San Carlo's 15 years in the game, so many people are unaware of!  You really need to experience one of these.

For those who don’t have time to eat in, then San Carlo's new deli station, open until 5pm, is also superb quality and makes the most of San Carlo's top-class larder.  It's absolutely perfect for those who want to grab and go, and we gladly did just that!

San Carlo are one of Manchester's most well-loved operators for good reason, and now there's another excuse to pay them a visit, so why not let San Carlo provide the best possible start to your day!
