"The food at Efes is the selling point for me. Very tasty Mediterranean food with Eastern touches. It makes a nice change to all the overrated Italian restaurants that have flooded the city. The environment is simple but relaxed. A place for food lovers!" - phil, manchester (6/8/09 - visited on a sunday evening)
"I visited Efes after reading rave reviews, including those below, and to be honest did not realise it was solely a buffet restaurant. Visiting late on a Sunday night may not have been the best time to visit but 'all you can eat' for £8.95 sounded like a good deal. Had I known that it was 'all you can eat of what's left and has probably been lying here all afternoon' I would have given it a miss. With many traditional Turkish dishes to choose from there was still enough left to fill my plate although the quality of each was massively disappointing. I will certainly be revisiting though early in the day to see how it compares. Drinks we ordered never arrived, although when we managed to track him down, the very apologetic waiter brought them over sharpish. Other diners also seemed to be on the hunt for the missing waiters - one even popping her head into the kitchen to ask for the bill. By the time we'd ate 'all we could eat' there was virtually nothing left in the buffet trays except for dried up lasagne or the lone meatball swimming in oily tomato sauce. It didn't prevent the waiters from charging 2 latecomers a 'special price' of £7 each to finish it off. Fools!" - Matthew, Manchester 24/9/07 (visited on a Sunday evening)
