| Cafe Rouge Printworks Manchester - member's reviews | "The steak at Cafe Rouge was tasty, succulent, and tender. The butter sauce was unusual and tasty too, however the portion size was very small. The price was as you would expect, but still being hungry at the end of the meal was a disappointment so therefore not good value for money and, unlike most chain restaurants, there was no drink or dessert included with the child's meal. There was also salt on the child's chips - a 2 year old should not have extra salt and I would expect a "kids menu" to reflect that. The food may be tasty but the service was shocking. We arrived at the restaurant at 12.40pm and had to ask to place the order ourselves as we kept being ignored. Unfortunately we felt like the waiters were turning their noses up when we requested 2 high chairs for my children. We had also asked where our food was twice. It was 2pm before our food arrived and, by this point, my 2 year old was hungry and crying. At 2pm the adults food was brought out but my daughter's food was not brought out until 2.15pm. Our meals were finished before her food arrived and we had to give her bits off our plates to keep her quiet. A child should not be made to wait over an hour for her food. The staff could see we were unhappy and agitated as my friend had a train to catch so gave us a discount in the end for any mishaps." - Ciana Woodburn, Manchester ~ member since June 2010 (27/4/11 - visited on a weds lunch) |
| "My husband and I have visited Cafe Rouge at The Printworks on a few occasions and we enjoy our meals everytime we go. As with our previous visits, we were not rushed, the service was efficient and the staff were polite. The food has always been good and our favourites are the 'Assiette Campagnarde', which is a sharing platter of pate, meats, olives and cheeses. For main meals we enjoy the Smoked Toulouse Sausages and also the Mussels soaked in white wine, garlic and cream sauce. This can all be washed down with a decent bottle of wine at a reasonable price. On this visit, we also decided to use a voucher which Cafe Rouge were offering, knocking the cost of one of the main meals off the bill. We will certainly be going back again." - michelle, rochdale ~ TRUSTED REVIEWER (24/3/09 - visited on a sunday lunch) |
