After an extensive refurbishment, Obsidian is now proud to be one of the most lavish and chic places in Manchester for delectable dishes and creative cocktails.
Located on Princess Street, underneath the Arora hotel, Obsidian is a short walk away from both The Palace Theatre and Town Hall.
As you enter, a discreet staircase leads to two separate rooms, one for the more discerning diner and the other leads to the vibrant bar area.
Obsidian has re-launched following a complete overhaul and, along with the menu, the décor has been updated and the interior colour pallet now includes regal mauves, creams and opulent gold touches.

The restaurant area at Obsidian now has cream booths and a mix of furnishings, which include leather Harvard style and dark velvet seating.
The food continues to be looked after by Bryn Evans, whose dishes are just as attractive to look at as they are to taste.
Having worked for a string of prestigious Michelin Star awarded restaurants, including the Chester Grosvenor, The Devonshire Arms and Juniper, Bryn’s talent and experience takes Obsidian to the highest level in fine dining.
He has helped create a menu with the very best locally sourced produce and seasonal ingredients, which highlight his style of cooking with excellent British produce with solid classic French grounding, accentuating and enhancing the natural flavours of the ingredients he uses.
 
 
 
 
The menu consists of the likes of Loch Tarbert hand dived scallops with intense juniper and beetroot vinaigrette, roasted quail with pickled damsons, foie gras roulade and tomato jelly, roasted monkfish with chorizo foam and oil, courgette and smoked chestnut or roasted local chicken breast with consommé, corn and black trumpets.
Not forgetting the mouth watering desserts which include cocao barry chocolate soufflé with Tahitian vanilla ice cream or blackberry cream with apple pastry, honey and organic cider.
With the turn of each season, Bryn and his team put together a faultless menu, attention to detail being paramount whilst still retaining the passion and enthusiasm which ultimately results in food that is sumptuous and sensational on all levels.
