Frankie and Bennys New York Italian Restaurant - member's reviews |
"I love this restaurant, the waiters are really friendly and the decor is cosy and relaxed. I have visited this restaurant many times before and have had no problems. The only downside to my meal last night was that my chicken was smothered in bbq sauce. The sauce was too sweet and sickly to eat. Other than that you can't fault the place! P.S. the orange chocolate profiteroles were to die for! Yum!" - roz, manchester - 2/10/08 (visited on weds evening) |

"We booked a table for a family of four for 8pm (and said we had children with us). We were sat near the bar and 6 people, obviously the worse for drink, and who had not booked, literally begged the waiter for a table. Unfortunately, they were sat right behind us and their language was atrocious and they were extremely loud (using the 'F' and 'C' word throughout). We asked them politely to lower their voices and one of their party became abusive saying we shouldn't be out with children at that time of night and swore at me (it was 9.15 pm. and school holidays - and also a birthday treat for our 9 year old daughter). This was in front of the waiter and we then asked for a manager to come over and talk to the other people. The manageress came over and said, because she hadn't heard them swear she could not do anything about it but offered to move us! (the waiter had heard the commotion, but did not make much of a comment - he seemed to be afraid of the people on the other table and what their reaction would be if he said anything to them! We declined the offer of a move to another table and decided not to have a dessert as our daughter was getting upset - we paid the bill and left and will not be going back again! We have been to Frankie and Benny's in Carlisle and made very welcome (as it is very family orientated) - we were very disappointed and our children were very upset" - james gardiner, barrow-in-furness - 25/8/08 (visited on sat evening ) |

"The food was good, the waiter who took our order and served our meal was also good. The only complaint I have, and it spoilt our visit and we probably wont't be returning there, was because of the waiter who was at the front of house. We had a twenty minute wait because it was busy, the problem arose when he showed us to our table and my daughter asked for another table to which he replied there are none (there were two tables behind him if he could have been bothered looking but he just had a coudn't care less attitude). He was cleaning the table next to us at the time and we did eventually sit there but we weren't really happy about his attitide!" - judith shovelton, wigan - 17/2/08 (visited on sat afternoon) |
